Hello everybody,

Last weekend, I visited Christo's cheery, saffron Gates in New York's Central Park, which provided a sliver of color against the bare trees and the gloomy February weather. The Gates are being dismantled now, but spring is right around the corner, hard as that is to believe. The days are getting longer, baseball is nearly back, and Live365 is gearing up for the Second Annual Live365 Community Summit.

Even if you're just an avid listener of Live365, you should consider making the trip out to the beautiful and cosmopolitan San Francisco Bay Area from April 29 to May 1, 2005. You can meet Live365 broadcasters, music industry insiders, and other Internet radio fans, plus preview the newest Internet radio devices. We'll have panels and how-to demonstrations, and, of course, you'll get a bag of free goodies to take back home with you. Hope to see you all there!

Best,
Nate Fisher

Elliott Smith - Some Song - Some Song: From the Kill Rock Stars Singles (Kill Rock Stars)
Smith once said that he carefully chooses his lyrics because the short length of a pop song doesn't leave much room for unnecessary words. "Some Song" is a good example of a concisely worded song that manages to impart a range of emotion: nonchalance, anger, and resignation flow together seamlessly.

Clem Snide - Fill Me With Your Light - End of Love (spinART)
Named for a character in William Burrough's Naked Lunch, Clem Snide has had several line-up changes since they formed in 1991. "Fill Me With Your Love," on their forthcoming spinArt release End of Love, is a gently rocking slice of americana complete with a catchy melody.

Marbles - Out of Zone - Expo (spinART)
Now that Robert Schneider is no longer fronting the Apples in Stereo, Expo is Marbles first new studio recording in a decade, due out in the Spring, 2005. "Out of Zone" has the same infectious pop sensibility as the Apples' work, with some electronic bleeps thrown in for good measure.

Iron and Wine - Jesus the Mexican Boy - The Sea and the Rhythm (Sub Pop)
Iron and Wine, aka. Samuel Beam, is a talented lo-fi singer/songwriter with a distinct, melancholy voice, a textured guitar style and a knack for lyrics. On "Jesus the Mexican Boy," a slow but enchanting tune, he sounds like Sparklehorse without a band.
